Pete Martinez, President

Prior to launching IFS, Pete was the Investment Specialist for a national insurance company's branch office in Overland Park, Kansas. Pete was a Registered Representative, Financial Advisor and Investment Advisor Representative of the organization's investment and securities division through its Broker/Dealer. As a manager of the organization, he also served as a licensed insurance agent and supervisor of other agents. This position required diligent monitoring of not only investment products, but also organizational investment activities. Some of his responsibilities included compliance audits, investment company relationship management and selection, continuing education of the sales force as well as product monitoring and investment case design, to name a few. Pete also maintained relationships with his own clients providing financial services to help cover their own personal needs. While working in this firm, Pete's responsibilities also included working with human resource managers in the community in the design and implementation of employee benefits to include retirement plans, group life and disability income plans. Additionally, Pete assisted retiree's transition into retirement through financial planning and investment strategies.   

Pete holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance as well as a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). Before joining his prior employer, he was a Portfolio Manager for a private firm in Overland Park. He worked for the Bank of New York as a manager and served on active duty in the United States Air Force during the Gulf War. In 2004, Pete resigned his commission and therefore position as Captain in the Missouri Air National Guard, Personnel Officer in the 139^th Air Lift Wing in St. Joseph, Missouri to focus on his career in finance.  

Beyond his investment community relationships, Pete has volunteered much of his time to work with charitable organizations, which benefit the children of the greater Kansas City community. Currently, Pete sits on the Advisory Board of the Kansas City Children's Assistance Network, an organization that he helped found.
